Event Description

Some of you know I am involved with a non-profit organization called Arts for Learning (A4L). Our upcoming “Breakfast for Brilliance” fundraiser is on February 4th, 2009 and I would like to invite you to join us. Our goal is to show you how we positively impact kids learning by integrating the arts into education. Additionally, we hope to inspire you to support our mission by making a donation.

Founded in 2000, as a partnership with Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, A4L believes in the power of the Arts to enrich and change children’s lives. A4L connects the cultural community to education in school, preschool, after school programs and summer camps. Our customized programs are designed to give children the tools they need to become creative thinkers and lifelong learners. See www.a4lmiami.org

In 2008-09 A4L will serve 15,000 children by working with:

500 teachers
100(+) Teaching Artists
56 After School and Summer Camp Sites
28 Preschool and School Programs
18 Family and Community Centers
Over 78% of the annual budget goes towards funding the programming
Management and General expenses are 16% - The Nat’l average is 18-20%

Event details:
It’s totally free and will only be an hour long.

There will be no requirement that any one give a donation at the event (but there will be an ask at the end of the event).

There will be children providing entertainment and testimonials of the programs impact on their lives. We want you to come and find out about the great work we do.
